Almond eye surgery is a surgical procedure that provides a more slanting appearance to the eyes in order to obtain a younger, healthier, lively, aesthetic and attractive look. With cantoplasty, sagging on or around the eyelids is also partially removed. The surgery can be applied to both male and female patients.
To Whom Is Almond Eye Surgery Applied?
Almond eye surgery can be performed on anyone who wants to have a younger, lively and attractive eye, especially those with faint eyes and small eyes. Although it is a permanent operation, it may need to be repeated in the following years with aging. In addition, if there is a problem in the lower or upper eyelids (such as excess skin on the upper eyelid or bagging on the lower eyelid), it is appropriate to eliminate this problem first and then perform almond eye surgery. Or it can be combined with eyelid aesthetics.
How is Almond Eye Surgery Performed?
The operation is performed under local anesthesia in a clinic or operating room environment, within 40-60 minutes. In cantoplasty, the corner of the eye, called the outer canthus, is stretched upwards outwards, suspended on the bone membrane and fixed with a non-melting suture. If it is desired to return to the old state after the operation, this is achieved by removing sutures with a 20-minute procedure under local anesthesia. There is no scar after the operation.
On the second day after the operation, the patient can return to his daily life and take a shower. Since the skin sutures can dissolve, they do not need to be removed. Mild redness, edema and pain can be seen after the surgery, which varies from person to person. The patient will have fully recovered at the end of 10 days. It is necessary to keep the area away from make-up and chemical products for the first 1 week.
